The end of boring Sunday evenings is here as the Nursery opens its doors for the House Party, a short improv show followed by board games, beers and hang out time. The House party is totally free and features performances from Nursery house and student house ensembles, as well as an opportunity for you to jam. A great way to see improv for the first time, this show is open to all and even the beer is by donation only!
The House Party Features:
Parkin from Scratch – A selection of London’s best and most experienced improvisers playing totally open, freeform improvisation. Surreal, heartfelt and downright funny, Parkin from Scratch is a mashup of the two Nursery house teams into one power ensemble and includes players from Nursery Originals including Magicked, Castles in the Air, Unbridled, United and Carmen.
Something Entirely Quench – Catch them before they are huge! Up and coming players from the Nursery’s student house ensemble playing the Deconstruction, a legendary Chicago form that is based on a core, realistic scene surrounded by scenes that comment on and explore the action, taking it in strange and wonderful directions.
Audience Jam – an opportunity to jump up onstage yourself. In collaboration with members of both ensembles, audience members with some improv experience will be able to jump into a longform jam.
The perfect partner to Thursday Night Lights, come brighten up your Sunday evening with a burst of improv fun.
