The Nursery is a great place to learn improv!

The Nursery/Maydays online improv classes and courses are a great way to improve your confidence and creativity, as well as being great fun ways to meet people from all over the world.

Course options

We believe everyone can enjoy and do improv. Our classes are suitable for anyone, artist or accountant, programmer or homemaker. Come brighten up your life with our improv classes.

Our Beginners course is the place to start, introducing you to the building blocks and basic tools of improvising.

The Longform course will give you a solid foundation in the creative and practical techniques of longform improvisation, weaving various scenes together to make one coherent piece.

We also have specialist courses in a variety of subjects from Musical improv to Shakespeare and Improv for Writing. Take a look at what’s on currently offer below.

Our courses are based on over a decade’s experience of providing world-class longform improvisation training.

We offer scholarships for all online courses in order to make sure that the fun and community of improvisation is available to as many people as possible across the globe.

  • Scholarships are available for all online courses.
  • You are encouraged to apply if you would not normally be able to:
  • Afford these courses
  • Or be unlikely to attend a course for any other reason
  • No set criteria
  • Apply for any course that is live on the Maydays or Nursery website.

Where to start

If you’re an absolute beginner why not dip your toes in at an online drop in class? All our general drop-ins are open to all abilities, but if you are nervous about the tech of an online class or about improv then our Thursday 7.30pm class is perfect for you!

If you’re more experienced, with a couple of courses under your belt you’d be able to start on any specialist courses that take your fancy, just email us if you’re not sure which is best for you.
