FLOURISH FESTIVAL ARTIST DEVELOPMENT CALL OUT

What we are offering:

• writing workshops on the 18^th & 19^th September, 6-9pm where you’ll be mentored to shape your piece.
• rehearsal space either on either 20^th, 21^st or 22^nd September, working with a director and two actors
• FLOURISH SHOWCASE on the evening of Saturday 23^rd

Guidelines for writers

• Please don’t send us a script. Instead send us your idea for a ten-minute theatrical piece. This should be on the theme of HOME. What does ‘home’ mean to you? This could be either in the literal sense i.e. bricks & mortar / geographical, or it could be connected to ideas about identity and belonging. (It should be for a max of 2 actors) Describe your idea in 500 words max – you might want to think about:
  a. your central idea – what do you specifically want to say
  b. your motivation for writing it
  c. what you would like your audience to go away feeling/think about afterwards
• Also, please send a paragraph telling us about yourself and what you’ve been doing (300 words max).
• Important – you must be available for the playwriting sessions, rehearsal and showcase.
• submissions are now open, and will close on Friday, June 30th at 5pm.
  (Selected writers will be informed by July 31st latest).

• Unfortunately we cannot accept submissions from outside of the UK.
