This workshop is one of many run by the Nursery to create an open and supportive creative space for female-identifying improvisers of all ages and experience levels who may, for whatever reason, feel they would benefit from an all-female class environment in which to learn and play! It’s a safe place to come and be bold and fearless and meet other dynamic women from across the city.
The classes run once a month, and they are stand alone, so you can book one or come along every time. Each workshop is taught by a different teacher and focuses on a specific area of improvisation, and we have some exciting people lined up over the coming months!
This month’s workshop with Jenny Rowe on Sunday 16th December, 2-5 pm is unfortunately no longer taking place, but look out for more Women’s Workshops in the New Year. We’ll see you there!
‘What are we doing here??’
Our relationship to the space and the audience. Jenny is fascinated by how, as improvisers, being in physically different spaces on stage can radically change how we feel and how we feel towards others. Our proximity to each other, our proximity to the audience, and how the way we hold the space increases or decreases our power as performers.
In this workshop, we’ll play with all of the above whilst still allowing ourselves to be as serious or as ridiculous as takes our fancy!
Unfortunately this workshop on Sunday 16th December is no longer taking place, but there will be more Women’s Workshops in the New Year so look out for those and we’ll see you there!
