Women’s workshops are an open and supportive creative space for women and non-binary people of all ages and experience levels.
These workshops run once a month, and they are stand-alone, so you can book one or come along every time. Each workshop is taught by a different teacher and focuses on a specific area of improvisation, and we have some exciting people lined up over the coming months!
This Month is ‘First Steps into Stand Up (Not scary)’, with Amy Gledhill
Do you want to do stand up but feel there is something holding you back? Maybe you feel scared, daunted or perhaps you just don’t know where to begin. Well, LET ME HELP YOU! I understand the above paragraph sounds a bit like the blurb of a self help book but I looked longingly at stand up for years before I dared to give it a try and my only regret was that I didn’t dive in sooner.
I’ve created this workshop for women who maybe felt how I did; curious but *tentative. We will do some really (non-scary) exercises and work collectively to bring out each other’s ‘funny,’ and most of all, we will have a laugh whilst we do it.
*shit scared

I did my first gig in 2012 and now am a full time comedian and have written for Cbeebies, CBBC, BBC3 and have appeared on BBC 1, BBC Radio 4, 4 Extra and 5live… which is why I think it’s really important to pay your TV license. I’ve won multiple awards (PLEASE stop going on about it) and am the proud recipient of this years’ Caroline Aherne Bursary for comedic talent.
