Event Details

Women’s workshops aim to create an open and supportive creative space for female-identifying improvisers of all ages and experience levels who may, for whatever reason, feel they would benefit from an all-female class environment in which to learn and play! It’s a safe place to come and be bold and fearless and meet other dynamic women from across the city.

The classes run once a month, and they are stand alone, so you can book one or come along every time. Each workshop is taught by a different teacher and focuses on a specific area of improvisation, and we have some exciting people lined up over the coming months!

An Intro to Improvised Satire

With Maria Peters

If you’ve ever felt that satire is only for brain-toffs. You know, the kind of person who reads the Financial Times and has confident political debates whilst puffing on a cigar over port… Or if you’re not even 100% sure if you know the definition of satirical comedy… Then this workshop is for you.

Satire is comedy with a point. It’s comedy that says something. Most importantly, you don’t have to be a current-affairs-guru to be able to make hilarious comments on society.

In this 3 hour session we’ll look at how you can introduce satirical scenes into your improv tool belt in the most fun & accessible way.
