Learn the core principles of Short-form Improvisation
This course has been added as a follow on to our previous short-form shake-up course, but is also suitable for anyone looking to supercharge their short-form
Tired of the same-old-same-old when it comes to improv games? Wondering how you can jump into your scenes quicker? Our short-form course is exactly the tonic you need.
The move into online formats has changed the way we rehearse and perform, but it also brings some fantastic new opportunities. We’ll make the most of these, with fun new games and challenging exercises developed especially for online play. There’ll also be a chance to revisit some old classics and find new ways of making them really fire in today’s world.
Over six weeks we’ll hone the skills to launch into your scenes with whole-hearted commitment, so there’s less exposition and more play. We’ll give you techniques and tips that will make your scenes soar. And we’ll show how all these can serve you equally well in long-form pieces.
Discover the joy of replay scenes, and the exhilaration of throwing yourself into the middle. Never be stuck on the sidelines again.
Min 6 participants, max 12.
This intermediate course runs every Sunday afternoon from 8th November to 13th December, 1pm-3pm
Intermediate (3/6 months+) These classes will be opportunities to add tools to your growing toolbox. Normally these classes will expect players to be confident playing scenes. These classes will provide practice and specific new skills.

Dan is a London-based improviser and coach, and currently plays in Nursery house team Parkin, and in Soundcheck, the show of amusing musical musings.
After doing his first improv show in Slovenia in the late nineties, he co-founded Barcelona Improv Group in 2011, before joining Ripcord, London’s first freeform team, in 2014. His biggest passion is organic freeform as developed by Kevin Scott and ImprovBoston under Will Luera.
He has trained with the FA, the Nursery, C3 and Hoopla in London, and worked with instructors from American theatres such as UCB, Second City, iO and Annoyance, and European groups such as L’Oignon. He loves fearlessness and theatricality and believes in the power of practice, practice, practice.
