Online Improv Intensive: Playing Longer ScenesImprov scenes can be any length. From a few short, punchy lines to an hour-long improvised one-act play, you can make up whatever you want. But the skills can be wildly different.
In this small-class intensive, you will experiment with scenes of ten or more minutes in length (around 2-3 times the length of many improv scenes), gaining the confidence and skills to hold these scenes and make them delightful to play and to watch. You will sit with your initial characters and discover about them as you go, letting them surprise you with their depth and apparent contradictions. You will practise balancing multiple elements in a scene, creating complex physical environments and games that can be returned to over and over again, all the while following what you and your scene partner find fun!
This intensive includes:
Creating, resting and blending elements of a complex scene
Emotional journeys which are at the same time surprising and inevitable.
Noticing and holding onto the logic of a scene, character or environment
Min. participants 6, max. participants 12. If we have to cancel the event due to low numbers, we will do this with 24 hours notice.
This Experienced 3-day Intensive runs Tues-Thurs, 17-19 August, 4pm – 7.00 pm BST
