Level: Advanced

Intro to Teaching Intensive: You’ve done hundreds of hours of improv classes, rehearsals and shows. You have read improv books, travelled to festivals, listened to podcasts and panel discussions and performed, performed and performed and you want to take the next step. You want to teach improvisation. But how to begin?

A pilot programme for a longer training in the teaching, coaching and directing of improvisation, this three-day course will examine how teaching works, what and how you might like to teach and some models for successful classes and courses. Guided by Nursery founder and former artistic director Jules Munns, you will reflect on the improv you have done and your core improv skills and beliefs, experiment with how to plan classes and teach exercises and think about how teaching improv might become part of your life.

This intensive includes:

What is improv for and why would you learn it?

Planning a class and leading an exercise

Boundary setting, complex situations and negotiating conflict

Min. participants 6, max. participants 12. If we have to cancel the event due to low numbers, we will do this with 24 hours notice.

This Advanced 3-day Intensive runs Tues-Thurs, 20-22 July, 4pm – 7.00 pm BST
