online improv elective: The Gathering

Level: Advanced

Immersive experience played out in real-time where you remain in the same character for a set period of time. Moving between different zoom rooms, we’ll build a world and the tapestry of relationships and stories within it.

What to expect:

Starting as ourselves, we’ll play games, get comfortable together and decide on the rules of our playground.

Then we dive into character (costumes optional!), explore and play. Staying in character throughout, you’ll interact with others and create a snapshot of life in this fictional place.

After our adventure we’ll regroup, let go of our creations, share and wind down together.

NB: Staying in character for longer periods can be a very rich experience, and it can also be quite challenging. Please consider whether this is appropriate for you before booking. There will be a ‘backstage room’ if you need to take a breather.

Min. participants 6, max. 8. If we have to cancel the event due to low numbers, we will do this with 24hours notice (and you will receive a warning 48 hours before the course if this looks likely).

This advanced workshop runs Saturday 31st July, 4 – 6.30 pm BST.

Advanced (3 years +) This is our highest level of class. These classes are recommended for improvisers who are regularly rehearsing and performing with a team.

Whatever the level of ability required, all of our classes are safe, supportive environments led by our experienced teachers. Please email us if you are unsure whether a class is suitable for you. If you sign up for a class inappropriate to your level the Nursery/Maydays reserved the right to remove you from the class without refund.

We offer free places for all online drop-ins and electives in order to make sure that the fun and community of improvisation is available to as many people as possible across the globe.

Free tickets available to those who are unable to afford them.

Option to Buy a place, Give a place – for yourself and a place for someone less able to afford it.
