Level: Intermediate
You do not need any Puppetry experience to do this class.
Puppets are unbelievably expressive and bursting with character despite usually not having a moving face or limbs. What happens when we remove those human characteristics from ourselves and move like a puppet? Well, let’s find out…
In this workshop we will explore what it is that makes puppets so engaging and expressive, then apply those same techniques to ourselves as human performers to create unique characters.
What to expect:
An introduction to simple finger puppetry
Playing with the screen to enhance mood, emotion and stakes
Investing in reaction
Scenes and exercises using minimal facial expression to mimic puppets
Min. participants 6, max. 12. If we have to cancel the event due to low numbers, we will do this with 24hours notice (and you will receive a warning 48 hours before the course if this looks likely).
This intermediate workshop runs Saturday 26th June, 4 – 6.30 pm BST.
Intermediate (3/6 months+) These classes will be opportunities to add tools to your growing toolbox. Normally these classes will expect players to be confident playing scenes. These classes will provide practice and specific new skills.
