Level: experienced
This intensive is dedicated to techniques that forge a fierce and stable connection with your scene partner. It is intended to produce improv which is theatrical, patient and beautifully constructed. Create scenes which elicit a range of responses from delighted laughter to open-mouthed wonder.
Work on emotional listening, making clear choices, building a scene together and having an emotional point of view.
We’ll also play with ideas that allow you to be vulnerable, fearless and effortlessly collaborative.
Syllabus includes:
Trust: become comfortable with your scene partners
Clarity, tempo & silence: learn to take your time and pace your scene
Feel something: play with an emotional point of view and see how it affects every other aspect of performance
Joy & play: how to be intensely theatrical and still have a great time
The now moment: appreciate the subtleties of an art form that is produced and consumed simultaneously and in real-time
Min. participants 6, max. participants 12.
This Experienced intensive runs every day from 15th to 20th February, 2 pm – 4 pm GMT
Experienced (18 months+) A class for skilful players, especially those who have finished improv training programmes at their school and are looking to widen their horizons. These classes will make the assumption that you are comfortable performing long-form improvisation and will push you.
Whatever the level of ability required, all of our classes are safe, supportive environments led by our experienced teachers. Please email us if you are unsure whether a class is suitable for you. If you sign up for a class inappropriate to your level the Nursery/Maydays reserved the right to remove you from the class without refund.
