The Nursery is back with in-person classes! Now that we are creating stories in the same room, we want to make sure they are more expansive than ever before.
In this Choose Your Own Adventure course, you will take your narrative improv skills to the next level. Diving into all of the elements of what makes a story great: structure, character, conflict, you will not only master narrative, but find joy in finding ways to twist and turn known elements to come up with something completely new. Taught by Juwel Haque.

What to Expect:
Review of story spine and narrative structure
Analysis of and experimenting with narrative elements
New techniques to help build the world of the story
Protagonists that are as exciting to watch as they are to play
Presenting options and following choices
Creating stories with theme and stakes
End of course performance will take place during the evening on 8th May.
When is It: Sundays, 24 April – 29 May, 13:00-15:00
Where is it: Theatre Deli (2 Finsbury Ave, London EC2M 2PF, United Kingdom). Closest tube station are Liverpool Street and Moorgate.
Level: Experienced (12 months+) A class for skilled players, especially those who have finished improv training programmes at their school and are looking to widen their horizons. These classes will make the assumption that you are comfortable performing longform improvisation and will push you.
We have 3 Courses : Improvised Opera, Choose Your Own Adventure and Freeform, all beginning on Sunday 24th April and running consecutively on the day. If you buy an Additional Course, you get 15% off the 2nd course. If you join all 3 courses you get 20% off all three.
Accessibility
Theatre Deli has a level access for wheelchair users via its Sun Street entrance. Its performance studios (where the workshops will be held) are accessible via lift. You are not likely to encounter any closed or heavy doors during your visit, however some routes are not in constant use and might require the Nursery staff to guide you in. Teacher
Juwel Haque is an improvisation teacher, actor, and director. He teaches classes and courses in long-form for The Nursery, where he is also a producer. Juwel performs regularly with Somewhat Theatre, Comediasians, and many other projects. He has trained with the best British and American improv schools and teachers and has significant experience in short-form and narrative and discursive long-form.
