Impromptu Shakespeare
Buckling on the bard’s britches to improvise the plays he never wrote
Bursting with love, poetry, comedy, tragedy, mistaken identity and everything in-between, Impromptu Shakespeare brings you an entirely new and unique Shakespeare play inspired by audience suggestions, to delight Shakespeare nerds and newbies alike. Featuring a cast of leading theatrical and comedic improvisers, they’ve performed five critically acclaimed runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and two at the Bristol Shakespeare Festival.
Ingenious and very funny
Will Gompertz, BBC Arts Editor
Simply sublime… side-splittingly hilarious improvised comedy almost worthy of the Bard himself

The play was so slick and hilarious, I forgot for moments that it was improvised

Happily Never After
An improvised gothic musical tale
A twisted, gothic musical tale inspired by Tim Burton and The Brothers Grimm. Starting with your spooky suggestion, these award-winning improvisers weave a fantastical tale dripping with black comedy, gut-clenchingly playful characters and haunting live music that’s different every time.
The Maydays were amongst the original improv companies to hit the fringe circuit, forming in Brighton in 2004. 15 years on, as well as touring the UK and Europe with their acclaimed shows, they are now running their own rehearsal studio. The company is made up of some of the UK’s most prominent improvisers and pioneers of the performance and teaching of long-form improvisation.
Fantastic! Improvisational theatre at its best!
★★★★★ Broadway Baby
Certainly worthy of Burton
