Event Details

Level: Experienced

The world is a cauldron of inspiration for improv. We come from different places with rich stories to tell. Yet we don’t celebrate them enough! These little details often bring rich textures and inspire you to new scenes. Improv is bringing out stories you have not played before.

There’s never been a better time to hear stories from Western and Eastern culture. But how do you use your culture? How do you treat others and play them respectfully?

In this workshop, we will share our stories and connect as humans around a campfire. You’ll get to appreciate the world’s many cultures and get a moment to step into another person’s sandals. And you’ll be happy with the wonderful mosaic that is you.

Class includes:

● How to bring your culture onstage

● How to be respectful and fun at the same time

● How to not use stereotypes

This course is designed to be multicultural and students from both the East and West are encouraged to apply. We know that costs can be prohibiting during this time. The Nursery offers full and partial scholarships whenever possible. To apply, go to https://thenurserytheatre.com/improv-classes/jason-chin-diversity-scholarship/.

Min. participants 6, max. participants 12. If we have to cancel the event due to low numbers, we will do this with 24 hours notice.

This experienced elective runs Sunday 31st January 3 – 5.30 pm GMT

Experienced (18 months+) A class for skilful players, especially those who have finished improv training programmes at their school and are looking to widen their horizons. These classes will make the assumption that you are comfortable performing longform improvisation and will push you.

NB: Our electives frequently sell out, but do not despair if this class has. You have not missed your shot. If enough people join the waiting list, we are often able to put the same class on a few days after or in parallel. So if you were excited, join up and we will be in touch.
