Got your show ready to go, but just need an audience? Have a wonderful workshop and just need the students? Or just confused and intimidated by how to make a career out of the thing you love? ‘Digital Tools for Arts companies’ is a course for those looking to upskill and professionalise. Over four two-hour sessions, you will be introduced to a variety of digital skills which are necessary, simple to learn, but not taught at drama schools. This course will give you simple, transferable skills to help you move towards professional artistic practice.
Over four weeks, you will look at:
Google Suite – The Zero Dollar CRM for your Arts Company. Including how to use tools like Google Forms, Sheets, Doc and Chat for internal communications, planning, marketing, registrations and invoice generation.
The A to Z of Promoting your Online Show or workshop. Including how to use free tools like Google Forms/Sheet for quick, effective and automated marketing while also focusing on drawing new audiences from social media, email and WhatsApp. Plus programming and structuring of your workshops as a tiered system,
Graphic Design for the Arts. A brief introduction to building a design identity including fonts, logos and colours, forecasting design needs for a project or Organization and a step-by-step walkthrough of Canva
Creating A Website for your Arts Company. Including the basics of planning, building and launching a website for your company, a walkthrough of tools like Wix, Google Sites and WordPress as well as an introduction to the basics of buying a domain, registering it, making a sitemap and bringing together all the content.
NB: Although we are primarily an improv company and expect many of our students to be improvisers, this course is open to practitioners from all areas of the performing arts. If this material sounds useful to you, you are welcome!
Just as active, engaging and dynamic as our improvisation, our ‘Pro’ classes give you skills and practices which will help you to make a living out of improvisation or similar artforms. They do not have a specific prerequisite in terms of experience, but we expect that participants are already practitioners in their field.
Min. participants 6, max. participants 14. If we have to cancel the event due to low numbers, we will do this with 24 hours notice.
This course runs four Wednesdays 18th March – 8th April 4 – 6 pm GMT
