Techniques and practice to make improv scenes and shows that better reflect you and your cast-mates.

Level: Experienced

Your voice and your story are a gift to the world, and in About Us, you can learn to share yourself in your improvisation.

This six-week course will help you make improv scenes and shows that feature your experience, personality, thoughts and opinions, feelings and authentic response. You’ll develop the confidence to inform your characters with your own perspective and play-style, through practice in exercises, scenes, and long-form show formats.

You’ll also cultivate the skills and attitude that make you the player and castmate that others want to play with and can trust to enable their own self-expression. You’ll be a more generous listener, make your partners’ offers important, and give empowered support.

By the end of this course, you’ll be more capable of making improv that’s about us; all of us.

Syllabus includes:

Your knowledge and expertise: developing the confidence to make scenes featuring your knowledge niches

Your story and perspective: creating relatable characters and scenes by inserting your uniqueness

Your emotions and authentic response: using your own true feelings to inform your characters’ responses

Supporting others: listening generously, making your cast-mates’ offers important, engaging strongly with offers you might not fully understand

Min. participants 6, max. participants 12.

If we have to cancel the event due to low numbers, we will do this with 24hours notice (and you will receive a warning 48 hours before the course if this looks likely).
