Level: Intermediate
BIPOC workshops are an open and supportive creative space for BIPOC performers of all ages and skill levels.
Let’s have some fun creating characters that the audience cares about. In this workshop, you will learn how to be silly, have fun and be grounded in the created reality in a way that strengthens your characters, your confidence and your entire performance.
What to expect:
Getting more comfortable playing characters on stage
Knowing that what their character says is important and carries weight
Fun!
Nursery/Maydays Sunday Classes
We work hard to provide a welcoming environment for all improvisers. In order to give space to different experiences and identities, the Nursery and the Maydays have worked to provide opportunities for specific groups to meet, connect, and improvise with one another. Each workshop will cover different topics depending on the instructor. Sometimes sessions will be aimed at particular skills, issues and questions, and other times they will simply be a place for people to come together and play.
The Nursery and the Maydays are constantly working to create programming based on the needs of our current students and the global improv community. If there is an underrepresented group that you would like to see have a workshop, send an email to classes@thenurserytheatre.com
This Intermediate workshop runs Sunday 19th September, 5 – 7.30 pm BST.
Intermediate (3months+) These classes will be opportunities to add tools to your growing toolbox. Normally these classes will expect players to be confident playing scenes. These classes will provide practice and specific new skills.
Whatever the level of ability required, all of our classes are safe, supportive environments led by our experienced teachers. Please email us if you are unsure whether a class is suitable for you. If you sign up for a class inappropriate to your level the Nursery/Maydays reserved the right to remove you from the class without refund.
Scholarships and Bursaries:
We offer full and partial scholarships for all online courses in order to make sure that the fun and community of improvisation is available to as many people as possible across the globe.
