The Nursery Podcast #26: Making a Show with Lee Simpson

The first in a new series of the Nursery Podcast. In the ‘Making a show’ specials, Jules will be talking to people involved in the shows that have inspired an influenced and inspired him about how to make an improv show.

In this podcast, Lee talks about working with Keith Johnstone on ‘Lifegame’, removing ‘the’ from its title, the difference between people and roles and how tiny details and unexpected events can hold the secret to the show.

Besides being a member of the Comedy Store Players, Lee has appeared in TV and radio from ‘Drop The Dead Donkey’ to ‘Just a Minute’. He is one of the artistic directors of Improbable Theatre, with whom he is currently working on a new show, ‘Paper Man’.

Before becoming involved in improvisation, he was, among other things, a croupier in a casino, a cinema projectionist, and a breakfast DJ.
