18 Jan Starting this Saturday – Improvisation drop ins with the Maydays
Starting this Saturday at 1pm, we have a new drop-in class for improvisation. Here”s all the details, and email us on email@example.com if you”ve got any questions.
What is it?
Three hours of improvisation fun! Working on the skills at the heart of improvisation, such as listening, making offers and committing to your choices, each week you will go a little further into improvisation. Led by a super-experienced teacher, the Maydays drop in is a safe, supportive environment in which to push yourself into things you never thought you could accomplish.
What will I get out of it?
In improvisation, you will be more confident, bolder and more fluid in all your skills. You will better understand both the mechanisms of scenes and the psychological process and states that lie behind. In life, you will find yourself more present, joyful and creative as well as more resilient to the stresses and mishaps of life. Everything will just seem that little bit easier and more fun!
Who is it for?
The drop-in is a wide ability class, but is specifically aimed at newer improvisers, or more experienced players who want to work on core skills. The atmosphere is accessible, fun and non-judgmental.
Who is teaching it?
For variety, the teacher will change every week, with the core being: Jules Munns, co-founder of the Nursery and Slapdash International. Performer with the Maydays and Ten Thousand Million Love Stories, director of Impromptu Shakespeare. Katy Schutte of the Maydays, Project 2 and Katy and Rach. Director of ‘The Watery Journey of Nereus Pike’ and cast member of ‘Who Ya Gonna Call?’ Rhiannon Vivian, master of the surreal, Mayday and Artistic Director of Music Box
