This workshop is one of many run by the Nursery to create an open and supportive creative space for female-identifying improvisers of all ages and experience levels who may, for whatever reason, feel they would benefit from an all-female class environment in which to learn and play! It’s a safe place to come and be bold and fearless and meet other dynamic women from across the city.
The classes run once a month, and they are stand alone, so you can book one or come along every time. Each workshop is taught by a different teacher and focuses on a specific area of improvisation, and we have some exciting people lined up over the coming months!
This month’s workshop is with Maria Peters, and takes pace on Sunday 17th June, 2-5 pm!
Maria Peters is a member of one of the UK’s top improv duos, Breaking & Entering, who perform and produce London’s popular Playground night. Her solo show, The Science of Cringe, premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year and played to sell-out audiences. She has also written for BBC Radio Comedy and is a regular on the improvised podcast Destination. Maria has been invited to play at numerous international improv festivals including Estonia, The Netherlands, Philadelphia, Portugal & Dublin. She’s studied with many of the world’s best teachers such as the legendary Keith Johnstone, as well at instructors from Chicago’s Second City, iO, and New York’s UCB theatres.
